Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as key figures in House Halovar could assist the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in quest for the traitor.
